Everyone’s strongly intuitive. That’s a given here at Intuitopia – and it’s a given in all of life.
But not everyone acts on the intuitive information that they gather.
There are a lot of factors that go into this. For one, we don’t always know when something is intuition, or when it’s just imagination. (But masters of intuition know that imagination and intuition are closely entwined.)
Another factor is the lack of attention. So often, intuitive hits fly by on the breeze. If we’re not fast or attentive, the guidance is gone in a flash.
But another reason – another factor that stands on the way of us acting on their intuition – is that our rational minds start to raise a stink.
If you have a desire to live by your heart and the guidance of your innermost self, but your “Hefty Left Brain” just can’t buy in, then it’s time to bridge the gap between them.
Here’s a body-centered approach to get you started. As you do this, you’ll respect your own critical thinking capacity even more, and you’ll learn to listen to your intuition more completely. The synergy of your intuition and your intellect will create even greater results for your business!
So, let’s start with your body and your energy centers known as the chakras…
In the chakra system, you have energy centers in your forehead, throat, and heart. The forehead chakra, also known as the brow chakra, represents intellect and analysis.
The heart represents feelings. It is often where many people first feel the stirrings of intuition.
Between them lies the throat chakra. As the seat of communication in your body, the throat chakra has the power to bridge your innermost feelings of your heart, and your critical thinking capacity of your mind.
So pay attention to your throat. Is it closing up when you start to speak the truth your intuition shows you? Whenever you stand in your greatness, do you find a frog in your throat that keeps you from speaking clearly? Do you find yourself coughing, clearing your throat, or even drinking water the wrong way, so it goes down the wrong pipe? These are signs that your throat chakra needs a bit of fine-tuning.
To fine tune this chakra…
- First, intend that your throat chakra be clear. Everything begins with clear intention, especially a self-healing process like this.
- Then, support that intention with visualizations or that help clear the path. I imagine a clear pipe made of crystal connecting my heart and mind. I also wreath myself in turquoise, a color traditionally associated with a healthy throat chakra.
- Finally, speak up about your desires and decisions within your business. Speak from both your intellect and your intuition.
To do this, create conditions that allow you to speak up fully, with greater courage and honesty than you’ve ever mustered before. This may be with your coach, with your mastermind group, or with a dear friend. Challenge your voice to be greater than it ever has been before.
Most likely, a bit of residual resistance will arise. But, as a highly intuitive person, you know what to do if this comes up!
Now, within the safety of that strong relationship or friendship, bring up a challenging business decision that you need to approach with a balance of intellect and intuition. Here’s what to do:
- Speak the truth of your heart. Fully let it express. Let all of your intuitive wisdom come out to play. All you’re doing is playing with information, feelings, and ideas. You don’t need to make any decisions yet.
Then… switch gears.
- Speak the truth of your mind. After your Hefty Left Brain has heard the words of your heart, let it express. Without fear, without judgment. Remember, your Hefty Left Brain isn’t out to get you! It’s not the voice of your fears. Sometimes it sounds like it – but it may also be the voice of strategy that lifts your business to the next level, so pay attention!
When your mind and heart have each had a chance to express, talk it over with your coach or other allies. Allow them to help you integrate the two perspectives, without being attached to an outcome.
And then, once you have gathered the input of your inner advisers – your intellectual mind and your intuitive heart – make your decisions. You may follow your intuition, or not. You may go with your intellect, or not. You might combine the two, creating a powerful partnership.
The possibilities are endless. And so is the wisdom you possess within you.
