Intuition and Spiritual Alignment

What happens when your intuition is out of tune with your spirit?

This sounds like a crazy question, because the general assumption is that intuition is exactly the same as spiritual guidance.

But this is actually pretty far from the truth.

Spiritual guidance leads you to that which is truly aligned with your own soul’s path. (That is, when you receive the guidance, understand it clearly, and act on it with trust.)

Intuition, on the other hand, is knowing that which you could not have otherwise known. It may be spiritual. It may not be.

In fact, sometimes intuition can get you into trouble. Like, when you intuit things about other people’s motives that you really didn’t want to know, or intuitively pick up on others’ negative feelings and can’t seem to shake them.

Basically, intuition – when not properly trained – can cause you to be too open to the world at large.

Spiritual guidance is discerned through the faculty of intuition. Through spiritual guidance, you can learn to use that faculty very clearly, growing your psychic common sense and living within your bubble of joy. (Your vortex!)

But there are times when that which you intuit may be out of alignment with your own soul’s path. When you’re receiving intuitive information that has nothing to do with your own life and spirit. When all that intuitive data just seems to bog you down. What do you do then?

Ask for help. Spiritual help.

The world is full of unseen helpers who can tell you—lickety split—whether you’re on track or not with your intuitive receiving, and how to get yourself clear and clean again.

And if you’re not clear enough to hear them well in this moment, chances are good that another healer with high integrity can lend a helping hand.

It all hinges on having a healthy relationship with your own spirit, as well as your compassionate spirit guides and angel team.

What would you like to do today to learn the difference between intuition and spiritual guidance?

What can you do to keep this fun?

interesting posts! Thank you oodles for sharing and your insight in this particular post was quite helpful. Often times I get so confused over intuition and it does lead me places that I would rather be ignorant on… like for the past few months I’ve known without knowing that my ex husband was either in or on his way to LA (where I live)….. last week found out I was right…. Had I not had that intuition I would not be worrying and I would not have followed a hunch to look him up and see if I was right… Or the time a few weeks ago when I was house sitting and I knew the host was not going to be out of town for how long he said… what was the point of me knowing that? I say these things but I want to clarify that I am so grateful to be so energy sensitive and intuitive… I do consider it a gift and I wish to sharpen my tools so as to channel it properly. I know that the universe wouldn’t provide me with these insights if it weren’t in my highest good…

eh, I forget my point. Great post!

Thanks, Currie Rose! I’m so glad that you feel so much appreciation for your intuition and sensitivities. They really are precious, and you certainly can sharpen them.

Here’s a thought: Intuition and intention go hand in hand. So, if you want to receive intuitive guidance on particular areas, focus your attention on those areas, with a kind of detached, observational energy. If you don’t want to receive intuitive hits about certain people or topics, then it’s time to change your focus onto something that feels good. To a large extent, what you focus on determines the kinds of information you receive!
